1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using the File Fortress service ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of the terms, you may not access the Service.
2. Description of Service
File Fortress provides a secure file management service that allows users to access, manage, and organize files across multiple cloud storage platforms through a local-first architecture. The Service includes a web portal for account management and a local console application that processes all file-related operations on your device.
File Fortress does not store your files or file metadata on our servers. All file information is encrypted and stored locally on your device. We only maintain minimal account-level data: your name, email address, device names, and a count of connected cloud storage providers.
3. User Accounts
When you create an account with us, you must provide accurate, complete, and current information. Failure to do so constitutes a breach of the Terms, which may result in immediate termination of your account on our Service.
You are responsible for safeguarding the password and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree not to disclose your password to any third party. You must notify us immediately upon becoming aware of any breach of security or unauthorized use of your account.
4. Intellectual Property
The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of File Fortress and its licensors. The Service is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws of both the United States and foreign countries.
5. User Content and Data
Our Service allows you to manage and organize content stored in your third-party cloud storage providers. You retain any and all rights to your content. Your files remain in your chosen cloud storage providers at all times.
File Fortress does not host, store, or have access to your file contents. Your files remain exclusively in your third-party cloud storage accounts.
On our servers, we maintain only minimal account-level information used solely for account authentication and subscription tier limits.
You are solely responsible for the content in your cloud storage accounts. File Fortress acts as a management interface that connects to your cloud storage providers and processes file information locally on your device.
6. Prohibited Uses
You agree not to use the Service:
- In any way that violates any applicable laws or regulations
- To transmit or upload any material that contains viruses or other harmful programs
- To infringe upon or violate intellectual property rights
- To transmit or upload any material that is defamatory, obscene, or offensive
- To interfere with or disrupt the Service or connected networks
- To impersonate File Fortress, employees, or other users
7. Subscription and Payment
Some features of the Service are offered on a subscription basis. You will be billed in advance on a recurring and periodic basis. At the end of each period, your subscription will automatically renew unless you cancel it.
You may cancel your subscription either through your online account management page or by contacting our customer support team. If you cancel, you may use your subscription until the end of your current billing period.
8. Limitation of Liability
In no event shall File Fortress, its directors, employees, partners, agents, suppliers, or affiliates, be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses.
9. Disclaimer
Your use of the Service is at your sole risk. The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. The Service is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.
10. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
11. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material we will try to provide at least 30 days' notice prior to any new terms taking effect.
